Rock A Bye
Rock A Bye
A one-of-a-kind sculpture that draws from myths and folk tales with narratives of strength, vulnerability and memory.
This ‘Rock a Bye’ sculpture is made entirely from reclaimed, repurposed and recycled materials. I’m an obsessive collector and gatherer of things that might come in and this series of domestic sculptures are an amalgamation of some of the things I’ve accumulated over many years.
This piece is made up of a vintage ceramic shire horse, a beautiful china rabbit, a bird of prey silhouette cut from a scrap of upholstery leather, two antique wooden coat hangers (one slightly damaged) and some salvaged wood.
It has a gentle rocking action and is a good size, at approximately 30cm tall by 35cm wide.
Please note: these pieces are made from elements that have had a previous life. They may have marks, crazing or wear that comes from years of use. Where this is very evident I will attempt to point it out, but please expect to receive something imbued with a sense of history that is part of its charm.
